Since there’s really no better accessory than a cocktail in your hand, each week Jackalope Ranch brings you a tasty adult beverage from one of our favorite drinking establishments, complete with recipe. This week: The Sage Julep at District American Kitchen. District American Kitchen may look like your typical swanky hotel bar, but didn’t your Momma ever tell you not to judge a book by its cover?
The upscale interior is indicative of its location inside The Sheraton Hotel in downtown Phoenix but its killer reverse happy hour deals, unpretentious bartenders and rooftop garden ingredients, gives it the kind of local cool factor we adore.
Nothing screams “refreshing summer cocktail” more than a lot of whiskey, a little freshly muddled sage and a blazing air conditioning unit.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Throw in a classy atmosphere and reasonable prices and consider our sweaty summer asses very happy.
