One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local,
international, in action and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s —
what’s yours?
Dutch designer Kevin Van Braak stripped the inside of his 1976 caravan, added a few faux outdoorsy touches, and added the hardware to make it all fold back into place — all for the sake of bringing the outside out.
“My caravan appears to be no different from any other caravan when it is
pulled behind a car,” writes Van Braak. “When opened it manifests itself as an artificial
garden, park.”
The Biod Bambi Caravan, which seats 15 (plus a stuffed badger), is the first in a series of trucks, buses and trailers turned mobile, artificial outdoor spots that might soon be for sale in the US. Van Braak writes that he just has to decide on a price.
