One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local, international, in action, and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s — what’s yours?
Baltimore-based printer Erin Wallace totally understands.
Wallace launched Friends with Benefits, a collaborative printmaking project, this week in an effort to break away from the often-removed and anonymous nature of the artist/printer relationship.
Wallace writes that Friends with Benefits allows her to work with a few of her favorite artists to produce a collection of simple and fine prints, for sale online and in stores. A portion of the sales will go to charities chosen by contributors.
The first set of limited-edition prints was designed by seven artists who were given the theme “pile.” Each 5-by-7 inch was letterpress printed at Typecast Press in Baltimore and is currently available on the Friends with Benefits website.
