If there’s one thing that Scottsdale excels at, it’s excess. To wit: Even though Old Town’s nightlife district already is populated by plenty of Mexican-inspired drinkeries (Dos Gringos, Loco Patron, Salty Senorita, et al.), why not add one more to the mix? Enter El Jefe, the tony taco and tequila joint located across the street from Pussycat Lounge. Much like Scottsdale’s Santos Lounge, it’s decor rocks something of a vato vibe with lowrider art, Virgin Mary candles, and plenty of Day of the Dead-style skulls.

The Club Candids crew stopped on Sunday, March 27, by for El Jefe’s opening weekend to snap some pictures of the joint, as well as all the pretty people inside. Check out this week’s slideshow to survey our snapshots.
