The after-hours party Oaxaca Saturdays has been up and running again at Oaxaca Restaurant and Cantina for more than a year since the restaurant’s been under ownership, says manager Chris Riaza. Each Saturday night from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., the restaurant’s west bar houses Caribbean night and resident DJ Tranzo mans the east bar for throwback hip hop, R&B, some cumbia and merengue, and more — all on vinyl.

This Saturday, Tranzo’s sharing the space with hip hop group Cultura Fuerte from New Mexico, Phoenix punk band Cultura Libertaria, and a sweet line-up of local artists.

Art. Film. Dance. Books. Recreation. Even sex and dating. It’ll be fun, we promise.

Riaza says local artists Samuel Gomez, Jeremy Arviso, Francicso Garcia and Edgar Fernandez will also showcase their artwork.

The search is still on for a local artist to do live art at the event, so for updates and information, visit the Oaxaca Saturdays Facebook page.
