Tomorrow is Live Nation Southwest Chairman Danny Zelisko’s 35th anniversary as a show promoter, and we’d like to extend a hearty congratulations. That’s right, Zelisko booked his first show on June 2, 1974, bringing Englishman John McLaughlin’s jazz-rock fusion group Mahavishnu Orchestra to Tucson.
Danny also hosts a radio show, Regular Guy Radio Hour on 93.3 KDKB, which is moving from 9 p.m. on Sundays to 10 p.m. on Sundays and doubling in length to two hours, starting this Sunday.
In other Live Nation news, Sarita Ray, a PR representative beloved by all who worked with her (at least at both area papers I’ve worked for) announced Friday that she’s leaving Live Nation and moving to San Francisco. She’ll be missed and we wish her the best in San Fran.
