In case you’ve missed all the buzz about SMoCA’s current exhibit “Rewind Remix Replay,” it’s a look at the material culture of popular music, and how it’s changed over the years.
How did we get from the record player to the iPod in just over four decades? This exhibit will show you. In addition to showing how music consumption and technology have evolved together, the museum is hosting accompanying events for our education and enjoyment.

This Thursday, April 29 at 7:00 PM DJs Maji, dk. Strickler, and P-Body will be at the museum, showing off their skills and discussing the medium with the public. You may recognize some of those names, as DJ Maji spins vinyls at Solstice in CenPho, dk. Strickler is a resident of Retro Hi-Fi at Sidebar among other places, and you can catch P-Body around town, including poolside at the Valley Ho.
Since the exhibit is coming to a close on May 23, this is one of your last chances to attend a demonstration. Oh yeah — and it’s free.
