When you really like a musician you let certain things slide. How about when musicians decide to create a “high frequency” concert geared for you and your dog?
That’s exactly what Lou Reed and his wife Laurie Anderson are doing. TwentyFourBit reports that this event will be taking place at none other than the Sydney fucking Opera House. According to Anderson, “You can just about hear [the music] sometimes… And you look at it on the meters and you see what it’s doing. And your dog’s ears will be twitching.”
Apparently the piece was inspired by the couples own canine, a rat terrier named Lollabelle. When asked what kind of music their pet preferred, Anderson replied, “She likes things with a lot of smoothness but with beats in them. Things with voices and lots of complicated high-end stuff. Chk-chk-chk-chk-chk … that kind of stuff.”
I generally enjoy the avant garde and bizarre, but who the hell could have prediced this? Even compared to the pair’s super-dd show in Chandler last year, this is truly weird.
