Kinch is planning to play four new songs during their set at Friday’s release party for the latest Flying Blanket compilation CD.
The band goes on early, just before 8 p.m., so arrive at Martini Ranch early if you want to hear the new stuff.
“All four new songs are guitar songs, which is nice since our last two EPs were pretty piano-heavy,” says guitarist Brian Coughlin.
Working titles — with a few notes on each song courtesy of Coughlin, plus an mp3 teaser — after the jump.
“VHS”
“Weird structure. Sounds most different from our original demo.”
“Evelyn”
“Pretty straight forward pop. Reminds me of the Kinks and Spoon at times”
“I Don’t Really Feel Like Anybody Else”
“Guitars remind me of The XX and melody of the bridge reminds me of ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.'”
“Sloe Gin”
“This will go over well on the Local H tour.”
