Free Movie on Main Street: Up
A Pixar favorite is appearing in a pop-up screening at Mesa’s Sliver Lot, 219 West Main Street. The free event, hosted by RAILmesa and Valley Metro, will provide popcorn, but guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs. Seating is first come, first served. The free spoken-word event, hosted by Jake Friedman and featuring Patience Briggs, gives local poets the chance to share their work out loud. Bike Maintenance Basics
If you’re shifting gears into a healthier lifestyle and ditching your four wheels for two, it might help to brush up on the basics of bicycles. Fortunately REI Tempe is teaching a class on how to keep up your ride, everything from lubing a chain to changing a flat. Bike Maintenance Basics runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11.
