First the bad news: New Times is not your 2009 Indie Bowl champions. I take full responsibility for the failure of our vaunted “All Midwest Transplant Team,” as I had by far the team’s lowest score of the night in our first game, which I only partially redeemed myself for in the second. I’m confident that, had we advanced to the four-team playoff, we would have carried the day, but, like the 2006 Cleveland Indians, which surely would have won the World Series behind the best pitching staff of the decade (three-man rotation: CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee and Jake Westbrook) we didn’t quite make it into the final field, and were thus ineligible to bring home the hardware.

It was a lot of fun, though, as you’ll see in these photos. Kudos again to “Psyko” Steve Chilton, who did a great job assembling over 30 teams to raise money for Local First Arizona.

More photos and results on the jump.
