DMX is planning to make an appearance at a Glendale church this weekend. The rapper known as “Earl Simmons” by Sheriff Joe’s prison guards had previously said he’s planning to skip town as soon as he gets out of the joint, but apparently had a change of heart.
According to everyone from RapBasement to TMZ, X has announced an upcoming “gospel rap extravaganza” at the Morning Star Sanctified Church on Saturday. The event is a fundraiser to help raise money for repairs.
The church’s pastor Barbara King, said X and his family have been members of the congregation for eight months now and he wanted to help raise money for repairs. Tickets are going for $35-$40 and that cash is paying for extra security since no one is quite sure who’s gonna show up to see the rapper, who has vowed to stop using profanity.
