Since my day at Coachella I’ve been asked by a lot of people if I discovered any cool new bands. Actually, I did: The Aggrolites.
I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical about the band, who took the stage after local boys Dear and the Headlights, when I first saw them. It was a healthy skepticism, borne of the fact that I am a music critic and they are a white reggae band from Los Angeles. If I hadn’t been tethered to that tent waiting for someone, I definitly would have gone to see something else, but, eventually, they really won me over.
Now, I’m planning to see them at The Clubhouse in Tempe on June 7. Trust me folks: As far as party bands go, they’re about the best you’ll see. Plan on having at least three Red Stripes, and I can pretty much gaurentee you a great time.
