Where: Cheuvront Restaurant & Wine Bar (1326 N. Central Ave., 602-307-0022, a one-minute walk south of the station)

Drink: Juan Gil Monastrell ’05, a red wine from Spain. Normally it’s $7.50, but it and many other libations are 50 percent off during happy hour (Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m.).

Scene: This joint is strictly upscale, so don’t go thinking you can stumble off the train in your cargos, flip-flops, and screened T-shirt and expect to fit in. After a hard day’s work at your office high-rise or after taking in the symphony or a play at the Herberger, this is the place to stop for a nightcap. A large but still manageable wine list, classy cocktails, and a decent array of beers await. This may be one of the few establishments along the light-rail line with a handsome patio, on which to sit, sip, and watch the trains zip right by you. — Jay Bennett
