$10,000

Every Wednesday, we’re going to start posting a YouTube clip featuring a local music artist — it could be a funny clip, a devastatingly good (or bad) clip, or just a really popular one with lots of views.

We’re starting with the latter. The following clip is the first thing that popped up when I did a search for the terms “Phoenix music” on YouTube. It’s a clip of 11 year-old guitar phenom Jack Ripper (whom I just blogged about in my Jackyl show review). The clip came in ahead of a tribute clip about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and a non-local video by somebody named Dave Parker doing a song called “Fly with the Phoenix.” Feast your eyes on Ripper’s amazing metal mashup below, from the 2008 Phoenix Music Awards.
