Amazing Arizona Comic Con @ Phoenix Convention Center
Deep breath, dorks. This weekend promises some exciting fare for comic book buffs thanks to the Amazing Arizona Comic Con. The three-day convention will feature costume contests, meetups for bronies and pegasisters, and appearances from Marvel’s Stan Lee and Jim Lee of DC Comics. Find your nerdy niche at Phoenix Convention Center from Friday at through Sunday. Passes range in cost from $25 to $50.
Saved By The Bell Party @ The Turf
Press pause on your continuous Netflix marathon of Zack Morris and company. Deck yourself out in acid-wash jeans and too-bright neon. It’s time to gather with your fellow Bayside babes and dudes for a party. The Turf will play host to the teen sitcom’s enthusiasts on Saturday starting at 9 p.m. Arrive dressed as your favorite character for a chance to win sweet prizes. Designer Meet and Greet @ Collins College
It’s that time again. Phoenix Fashion Week is on the hunt for folks to participate in October’s Fashion Week festivities. If you’re a fashion or accessory designer, model, photographer, retailer, or stylist looking to expand your brand, hit up Saturday’s PFW meet and greet from 1 to 3 p.m. at Collins College in room 132/134. Breaking Ground 2013 Master Classes @ ASU Dance Studio Theater
If the performances during the dance and film festival Breaking Ground have you inspired to get moving, you’re in luck. CONDER/dance will host two master contemporary dance classes for dancers ranging in skill from intermediate to advanced. Choreographer Barbara Mahler teaches from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Assistant Professor at the University of Utah’s Department of Modern Dance Eric Handman’s class follows from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Saturday at ASU Dance Studio Theater. Admission for one class is $10. Attend both for $15. Discounts are available for festival pass holders and the show’s cast members.
