Well, here we are again. It’s Friday once more and we’ve all aged another seven days since we last wondered what to do on our weekend. Time really flies, doesn’t it? Read on and take your pick from the good stuff happening around town while you’re still young enough to enjoy it.

Full Moon Hike at Estrella Mountain Regional Park
We do love to cover arts, crafts, and pretty things on this blog. But
if you fill your days with such activities, you’ll soon feel your body become squishy from the “soft life.” Oh, what’s an artsy person to do? We say take a hike — under a beautiful full moon. Get your blood pumping without having to
resort to ugly, generic, non-artsy gym treadmills at the hike tonight, Friday, May 28. Click here for more details.

11th Annual Summer Family Exhibition, “What Moves Us: Art of Transportation from the Permanent Collection” at ASU Art Museum
There’s
nothing more awkward than taking your kid to an art
show and sharing the unexpected view of a sculpture of a man with a big wang. ASU Art Museum won’t
have any sneak surprises like that
at their family exhibition, “What Moves Us: Art of Transportation from the Permanent
Collection.” The show opens Saturday, May 29, and showcases picks from
the museum’s stash that fit the charming (and G-rated) theme. Click here for details.

Raising Chickens in Your Backyard with Rachel Bess at Central Slope
Urban

chickens are freaking hip right now (hey, Kate Crowley does it) but if you’re going to
embrace this trend, you may want to learn how to do it right. Let
chicken expert Rachel Bess (she’s also a super talented local artist, click here to read about her work) show you
the way on Saturday, May 29. Click here for more information and
registration details.

Fetish Prom 2010 at Venue of Scottsdale
Alright you kinky
weirdos, it’s time to hit your local Trails
Department Store and shell out for some pleather because the Fetish
Prom 2010 (hosted by Horns & Halos and part of the AZ Fetishball
Series) is here. Yes, it’s got music, burlesque dancers, and suspension
artists hanging from meat hooks…you know, everything you’d expect. Go
ahead, show some flesh on Saturday, May 29, and meet some like-minded
sexual
deviants. Click here for details.

Salt River Heros = Litter Zero Tubing at the Salt River
It’s memorial day weekend. This means that starting Saturday, the Salt River will be
jam-packed with young partiers getting housed and peeing in the water.
This time around, however, organizers are pushing for a litter-free
experience and they’re encouraging participants
to collect trash as they float along. We’re hoping this means the river won’t have any of that
scary foam floating near the water’s edge…what is that crap anyway? Click here for details.

Extra Bonus: Zombie Walk and Beauty Pageant at the Hyatt Regency Hotel
Okay,
we said “Top 5” but here’s a little reminder of the spectacular zombie event
tonight, Friday, May 28, for all you Comicon-ers out there. Click here to read our post from earlier this week to get all the details.
