There’s a ton going on Saturday (a Pie Social, an arts parade, and tons of burlesque madness, to name just a few events), which means you’re going to need some body fuel.

Might as well stuff yourself full of locally-reared protein and carbs, thanks to the Certified Local Fall Festival.

The one-day event gives it up to the more than 60 Valley-based eateries and retail indies, and will include participation by all sorts of local trend-setting spots, such as Frances, green, and Postino Winecafé.

The sixth annual shebang — organized by Local First AZ, the non-profit coalition formerly known as Arizona Chain Reaction that banded together in response to the Valley’s overflow of chain businesses — will look a bit different from the past.

On account of last year’s more-than-expected turnout (more than 5,000 folks), the vendors will be spread out a bit more. The fest will also beef up its recycling efforts.

The Certified Local Fall Festival is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Duck and Decanter, 1651 East Camelback Road. Admission is free. To see the list of participating businesses, check out this link.
