Pay close attention to the costumed performers in large frames at the Phoenix Art Museum this Saturday.

They aren’t participating in the latest flash mob, nor are they excited art fans about to get thrown out of the museum. The dancers are part of a one-night-only performance by the internationally acclaimed Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre
“A Guide to an Exhibitionist,” uses dance, music, and architecture to explore how the audience, subject, and gallery all contribute to the art experience.

Featuring over-sized frames with dancers moving inside as the artwork, each scene takes a spin at exposing different art elements, including the “mysteries of the nude, the action of still life, and the kaleidoscope of color field.”

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre is a non-profit based out of Los Angeles, which received a National Endowment for the Arts award for the exhibit in 2009.
