$10,000

One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local,
international, in action, and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s —
what’s yours?

Thom Thom‘s prefered canvas is the layered billboard.
The French street artist peels, cuts, and pastes on top of popular advertisements and billboards throughout France — what he sees as a considerable upgrade.
His work is temporary by nature, and typically only viewable for a few days until it’s covered and pasted over with a new advertisement.
You can see a brief history of his work on his Flickr page or a video of Thom Thom (aka Hephaestus) in action after the jump.
