Good Fucking Design Advice started as a humorous side project of designers/educators Brian Buirge and Jason Bacher and developed into a collection of tools and resources for designers around the world. The project is a year old this month.
Their advice (that can also be applied to industries outside of design) is simple and is incorporated into anecdotes they tell through their website and their slogans are printed on screensavers, mugs, tees, and posters: work fucking harder, stay up all fucking night, ask for fucking help, learn to take some fucking criticism, think about all the fucking possibilities.
For their one-year, the two (with the help of their intern) released a short documentary, ‘Getting Shit Done: The Passion Behind G.F.D.A.’ , which you can check out after the jump …
Buirge and Bacher write that their first year was about discovering
their own passions while taking chances and sharing opportunities. Going
forward, their goal is to inspire designers to be fearless in their
own projects.
