From the “better late than never” department, the National Hockey League is a functioning thing again, and a 48-game schedule has been created for each team this season.
The season was supposed to start a few months ago, but the whole lockout debacle messed that up completely, so the Phoenix Coyotes’ first game of the season will now be on Saturday, against the Dallas Stars in Dallas.
The first home game will be the next day, as the Coyotes play the Chicago Blackhawks back in Glendale.
As you may recall, the Coyotes defeated the Blackhawks in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year, before beating the Nashville Predators in the next round, and going on to lose the Western Conference final against the eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Los Angeles Kings.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
You can find the entire schedule for the Coyotes’ season below, and all the times are in local time.
