The Arizona Cardinals have apparently found their quarterback: soon-to-be former Philadelphia Eagles backup QB Kevin Kolb.
Kolb reportedly has agreed to a five-year deal worth up to $63 million, with about $20 million in guarantees. In exchange for Kolb, the Cardinals have sent Pro Bowl cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round pick to the Eagles.
League rules prevent Kolb from actually signing the contract until
tomorrow, but multiple media reports seem to think it’s a done deal.
“I heard he’s a great guy and I’m sure he’ll make our team better,”
fellow Cardinals quarterback John Skelton told Cardinals news blogger
Darren Urban. “I’m just going to go in and compete and I’m sure we’ll
make each other better.”
Last season, Kolb completed 115 of 189 passes for a total of 1,197 yards
in five games played. He also threw seven interceptions, which led to a
passer rating of 76.1.
