Local rockers Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers tweeted the unsurprising news that the GreenStock has been canceled this afternoon.
I’ve been unable to confirm this with organizers — who don’t seem to have voicemail and haven’t answered an e-mail — but there’s little reason to doubt it’s true.
The show, scheduled for September 17-19, had a pretty decent bill: Locals Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Gin Blossoms, and The Wiley One plus two veteran national acts, The Guess Who and Blues Traveler.
However, you may have heard that there’s another little show going down that weekend: Arizona Fall Frenzy at Tempe Beach Park with Weezer, Devo and more. So, yeah, GreenStock was headed for certain disaster.

Roger and Co., perhaps catering to out-of-town fans who already planned to trek down to see them, scheduled an intimate makeup show at Rustler’s Rooste. Oh, and since they don’t know when the makeup GreenStock show will be, the band decided to go a step further and “encourage fans to get refunds.”
