After finishing this season with the crappiest record in the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns are proud to announce that there are new logos for the team.
If the starting lineup of Goran Dragic, Luis Scola, Jared Dudley, Michael Beasley, and Marcin Gortat just isn’t good enough for you, these new logos ought to do the trick.
Suns president Jason Rowley, in the team press release says these logos “enhance the Suns brand and create an energetic feel that fans can get excited about,” which is an extreme overstatement.
You’ll notice that two of these logos, the sunburst and the flaming bird thing, aren’t exactly “new.”
Elsewhere, the font that says “Suns” is different, as you can see at the top, and there’s also this alternate logo, which is billed as a “completely new” logo:
After the suck-fest of a season the Suns had this past season, they have the fifth overall pick in the draft, which starts later today. The Suns actually had a pretty good record in drafts a few years ago, picking guys like Luol Deng, Nate Robinson, Rajon Rondo, and Rudy Fernandez. The problem, obviously, is that none of them ever played a game in a Suns jersey. The Suns have a new GM in Ryan McDonough, so we’ll see where that leads them.
