Republican state Senator Rich Crandall is soon to become the subject of an ethics complaint thanks to fellow Republican Senator Brenda Barton, mostly over an angry voicemail Crandall left for her.

This all started (as so much drama does) over a campaign-sign feud,
in which there are photos of two women taking down a sign for Republican
state Representative John Fillmore, and replacing it with one for
Crandall.

At some point during the drama — and after the pictures of Crandall’s daughter apparently in the act of messing with the signs
hit the Internet — Crandall left a voicemail for Barton, saying she
“better not try to run any education legislation whatsoever [in] the
next two years.”

Crandall’s the chairman of the Senate Education Committee, so he could have great control over Barton’s plans to improve the state’s education — like the bill she sponsored to allow concealed weapons on community college campuses.

This morning’s question: is Crandall’s voicemail worthy of an ethics complaint, which puts him in the ranks of guys like ex-Representative Daniel Patterson and ex-Senator Scott Bundgaard?
