In what seems to be a last-ditch effort to keep the team in the Valley, Phoenix Coyotes President Douglas Moss is pulling out all the stops to try to boost attendance at Jobing.com Arena.
Yesterday, the team announced the “Coyotes Express,” a free shuttle service to drive people from the East Valley to Glendale to see a game. Today the team unveiled “Military Mondays.”
“Military Mondays,” is the latest gimmick offered by the failing franchise in an attempt to get some butts in the seats. For every Monday home game, the team will give out 100 free tickets to members of the military.
“The Military Mondays Sweepstakes are designed to give back to those men and women in the military who have sacrificed so much for our country,” Moss says in a statement.
Sure it’s not to give the illusion of a fan base?
The sweepstakes is open to “active-duty members, active and inactive Reserve members, and veterans of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and National Guard who permanently reside and/or are currently stationed in the State of Arizona.”
