Everyone’s favorite cuddly comedian, whose observational humor tackles everything from Muppet Babies and Black History Month to defective cats, is coming to the Valley for the first time. Ron Funches, the stand-up comic who worked his way from Portland to Los Angeles to the stage of the Conan O’Brien Show and John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, is finally getting the media attention he deserves. That’s all thanks to appearances on Kroll Show, New Girl, and of course his role as Shelly on NBC’s Undateable.
Funches will perform at Tempe Improv, 930 East University Drive, Tempe. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 2; 7:30 and 10:15 p.m. on Friday, April 3; and 7 and 10:15 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $20 with a two-drink minimum. For details, visit www.tempeimprov.com or call 480-921-9877.
Thu., April 2, 8 p.m.; Fri., April 3, 7:30 & 10:15 p.m.; Sat., April 4, 7 & 10:15 p.m., 2015
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
