On Saturday downtown Phoenix will finally get its own food marketplace when the DeSoto Central Market opens its doors. The grand opening celebrations will go all day on Saturday and Sunday and include a wine tasting with Young’s Market Company (1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday), a Chinese Lion Dance (6 p.m. on Saturday), a latte art workshop (1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday), and live music from Lee Perriera (4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday). The market will house several restaurant concepts including a raw bar called The Walrus and the Pearl, The Yard Bird + Larder from chef Stephen Jones, and a coffee bar called Tea & Toast.
