Sky Harbor International Airport saw its busiest month ever in March, with more than 4 million passengers.

With a total of 4,029,861 passengers going through Sky Harbor, it was the first time that more than 4 million people passed through the airport in a single month.

Interestingly, the number of passengers going through the airport pretty much coincided with the recession.

In March (usually the busiest month) of 2006, 2007, and 2008, there were more than 3.8 million passengers coming and going at Sky Harbor.

By March 2009, there were fewer than 3.5 million passengers, then more than 3.5 million in March 2010, more than 3.7 million in March 2011, more than 3.8 million in March 2012, and more than 3.9 million in March of last year.
