It certainly didn’t take long for Arizona Congressman John Shadegg to eat his words after the fallout from his latest rant on the floor of the House of Representatives.
As we reported yesterday, Shadegg stood in front of Congress Monday night and warned New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg of a potential kidnapping attempt against his daughter if the trial of suspected 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed were to take place in New York City.

Last night, Shadegg changed his tune and apologized to the mayor.
“I apologize for the insensitivity of my remarks with respect to the mayor or his family, however I think it is important to note that this decision involves potential risk to innocent people,” Shadegg tells the Associated Press.
Talking Points Memo claims that Shadegg was scheduled to appear on MSNBC this afternoon to further discuss his comment with host David Shuster but canceled last minute to attend a meeting. Bummer.
