Running Wild Films is making progress on its upcoming film, Durant’s Never Closes, starring Tom Sizemore (of Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan fame) as the steakhouse’s owner, Jack Durant. The production house just released a full-length trailer for the film, which revolves around Durant — “a restaurateur, ladies man, and mysterious gentleman who maintained many connections to the mafia.”
According to director/producer/writer Travis Mills, Durant’s Never Closes will be released early next year. Mills and his team also are working on submitting to festivals.
“We can’t wait to show it to our Phoenix audience, who the story matters most to,” he said via e-mail.
In February, the filmmaker raised over $100,000 to fund the project. Pam Grier and Michael Richards (“Seinfeld”) were originally lined up for roles in the film, but it looks like they’re no longer involved.
