This week was big for women accused of murder — two women get trial dates for murder charges, Jodi Arias’ next court hearing will be closed, and more:
- Debra Milke gets a trial date
A court date was set in December for Debra Milke, who was on death row for more than two decades before a federal appeals court overturned Milke’s conviction for the murder of her son. Judge Rosa Mroz set a trial date for February 2015. Milke’s currently out on bond.

- Jerice Hunter gets a trial date
Jerice Hunter, the Phoenix woman accused of murdering her 5-year-old daughter, got a trial date — August 4, 2014. Police believe she killed her daughter, and tossed her in the garbage. Although investigators searched a landfill for weeks, Jhessye Shockley’s body never was found.

- Jodi Arias headed for a closed hearing
The next court date for Jodi Arias, scheduled for Thursday, will be closed, at the request of both sides, according to a court spokesman. A jury couldn’t decide whether Arias deserved a death sentence for her murder of Travis Alexander.

- Diamondbacks’ Spanish announcer pleads not guilty
Miguel Quintana, the Spanish-language voice of the Arizona Diamondbacks, pleaded not-guilty to charges related to allegedly holding a knife to his wife’s throat at their Paradise Valley home. Quintana has been with the team for 16 seasons.
