The Tempe men who were arrested after driving around completely naked together after allegedly breaking into a man’s car couldn’t seem to get their stories straight when talking to police Monday morning.
While Anthony Gammon told a story consistent with Tempe PD’s recollection, his partner Alberto Rosciano told police he really didn’t know why he had to get naked before he ran away from the scene of the alleged burglary, according to court documents obtained by New Times.
See, Anthony Burton, 29, found Gammon and Rosciano, both 18 years old, allegedly breaking into his car around 3 a.m. Monday, according to Tempe police.

Burton confronted the men with a gun, and told them to get butt naked, apparently to make sure that they had no stolen property hidden anywhere, police say. Burton let them leave — but not with their clothes.
They hopped in their own car and drove away, and police caught up with quite likely the only two naked dudes driving down Rural Road together at 3 a.m., and were arrested for the alleged burglary.
In addition to that, police found a few items of interest in the couple’s van, including syringes and heroin residue, bolt cutters, pliers, metal clippers, a ski-mask, gloves, and a handgun, according to the court documents.
Gammon told the cops he and Rosciano were rummaging through Burton’s car for a few minutes, and eventually found a loaded pistol in the trunk. However, that was the point that Burton came outside, cocked another handgun, and pointed it right at them.
That’s when Burton told them to get naked, and sent them on their way.
Rosciano, on the other hand — who police note has an “extensive previous history” — took a different route with his story.
Rosciano told police that he just happened to hear someone arguing with Gammon in the parking lot, and he decided to go check it out.
He said he tried to calm the situation down, but Burton just made them get naked for absolutely no reason. Rosciano added that he and Gammon decided to run away from Burton after getting naked.
However, given what witnesses told police, and the alleged fact that Rosciano’s and Gammon’s van contained the heroin paraphernalia and the entire burglary starter kit, they were both arrested on a variety of charges.
Meanwhile, police met up with Burton at his place, and he ended up getting arrested for the friggin’ alligator in his apartment.
According to Tempe police, Burton had a two-foot Caiman — a member of the alligator family — which Burton said he bought over the Internet from a Florida-based company.
Burton faces a charge for the the alligator, as well as charges for the alleged marijuana found in his apartment.
Gammon and Rosciano each face a pair of burglary charges, as well as drug-paraphernalia charges, and weapons charges, related to a gun police allegedly found in their van.
Bond was set at $2,700 for Gammon and Rosciano.
