A giant jack-o-lantern with hollow black eyes and a menacing grin is tumbling through the streets, bouncing off vans, knocking down street lights, and bowling into pedestrians.
It may sound like a scene out of a bad horror film, but it actually happened in Arizona when a 25-foot tall, 350-pound inflatable pumpkin escaped from a Halloween display at the Peoria Sports Complex.
Patrick Sparkes, the gourd’s owner, told KPNX 10 News it took him nearly an hour to recapture the runaway, which apparently was shaken free by the wind.
“I was so shocked to see that it was like bouncing like a basketball all the way down the road,” Sparkes said. “Like, oh my god, I didn’t know it was going to go that far.”
