McDowell Mountain Music Festival announced its dates for next year’s festival yesterday. The three-day music festival, which brings major headliners to downtown Phoenix, will take place March 3-5, 2017.

Last year’s festival saw Beck and Avett Brothers play. The previous year, Widespread Panic and others came down for the festivities.

This will be the 14th year of the nonprofit festival, which raised $100,000 for charity in 2016 and $120,000 for charity in 2015.

The new date is the earliest organizers have hosted MMMF in recent years. In 2015 and in years before that, the festival took place during the final weekend in March. This year, organizers bumped up the dates to take place during mid-March, but that unfortunately overlapped with Viva PHX, a single-day music festival taking place in more than 15 venues in downtown Phoenix.

We’re thankful for you. Are you thankful for us?

We feel thankful for our staff and for the privilege of fulfilling our mission to be an unparalleled source of information and insight in Phoenix. We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community.
Help us continue giving back to Phoenix.

Viva PHX announced its date for the 2017 festival just a few weeks after the festival ended, and we beseeched other festival organizers to try not to overlap. Looks like at least one festival listened. Good on them.

There is no word yet on tickets or a lineup announcement.
