Pickle enthusiasts – and those looking for any excuse to go out – can rejoice. Scottsdale Pickle Fest is returning to Wasted Grain in Old Town Scottsdale on Nov. 16.

While the theme is edible, organizer Mark Waller says it’s not just a “foodie” event.

“It’s just for people who want to have fun and have a quirky little theme and hear live music and have drinks and just have a good time with friends,” he says. “It’s for people who love pickles.”

Admission, which starts at $10, includes entertainment from a DJ, live music from Aaron Loveless and a complimentary pickle-back whiskey shot. Other pickle-centered libations will include pickle-and-dill margaritas, spicy pickle bloody marys, and a “pickle beer tub station.”

Ever tried pickles on a pizza? What better time and place than Pickle Fest.

Regarding food, Wasted Grain is putting together some special dishes, which, though the menu is not finalized, are set to include pickle pizza, chicken-pickle salad sliders, fried pickle spears and other pickle-filled foods.

Additionally, there will be vendors selling Sonoran pickle dogs, pickle martinis, homemade jumbo pickles and pickle-themed desserts from fellow Scottsdale business Sweet Dee’s Bakeshop.

Aside from food and drinks, attendees can get their face painted and pose for the 360 photo booth, both of which can help you win a photo contest.

“Prices will go up,” Waller says, “but right now tickets are $10 plus fees and taxes, so it’s a really inexpensive event for now, so it’s a good value I would say to hear live music and get in there and have a free shot.”

The fun starts at noon and attendees must be 21 or older.
