On Friday, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced that a grand jury had returned felony charges for four men accused of attacking former Arizona Coyotes player Paul Bissonnette at a Scottsdale restaurant in November. The attack, which was precipitated by Bissonnette intervening when some of the men accosted staff at the eatery Houston’s, left the ex-hockey player shirtless and bloodied.
The men charged are Sean Daley, Henry Mesker, Danny Bradley and John Carroll. All four face class 6 aggravated assault charges in addition to class 1 disorderly conduct misdemeanors. The felony charges carry a maximum penalty of two years in prison.
The county attorney’s office also announced a grand jury indictment on the same charges for Daley in December. A county attorney’s office spokesperson said Daley’s case was refiled along with charges for the other three men.
Bissonnette was eating at Houston’s on Nov. 24 when several men began loudly berating a restaurant staffer. When he intervened, the men attacked, the brawl spilling into the parking lot.

“I walk over, I grab the guy’s arm and I say, ‘Listen, buddy, if you keep harassing and assaulting the staff here, we’re going to go outside, and we’re going to have some problems,'” Bissonnette recounted on a podcast soon after the attack. “The minute that left my mouth, the guy beside him starts throwing punches.”
Two other men, William Carroll and Edward Jennings, were arrested by police but have not been charged.
Bissonnette has not yet reacted to the charges on X, where he has 1.3 million followers.
