Christmas is coming early for local music lovers. McDowell Mountain Music Festival just announced the first wave of acts for the 2018 event.

Recently rebranded as M3F, the festival is scheduled to take place at Hance Park from Friday, March 2, through Sunday, March 4. Like previous editions of the events, all proceeds will be donated to charity.

The “phase one” crop of bands announced is an eclectic mix of crossover indie acts like Cut Copy, big electronic acts like Big Gigantic, jam bands including O.A.R., and hometown heroes Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra.

Here’s a rundown of all bands scheduled to perform at M3F 2018 (so far):

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.

$30,000
