Having sweated and sniped through a few 5Ks in our time, we admire folks who run for the hell of it. 20K types? Forget about it. These are people who just like pain, heaping helpings of it.
The misery-in-Mizuno contingent will be out in force for the annual South Mountain Classic 20K and 5K. The USA Track and Field-certified races start and end at South Mountain Environmental Education Center, wending their way through the positively ponderous preserve.
The 20K starts at 7:30 a.m.; the 5K follows at 7:40. Registration precedes at 6:30.
