The porta-potty is an unheralded savior. Using those plastic offices of sit-down business is weird, but who else has our backs at musical festivals and other big outdoor fiestas? Who keeps the portable toilets rocking, rolling, and ready for our rear-end refuse?
Kenny, a mockumentary-style flick presented by the Phoenix Film Society, semi-answers that question. The flick follows its eponymous protagonist, a cheerful bloke whose life is maintaining temporary toilet units (or “porta-loos”) around Australia. Shane Jacobson – who portrays the affable main character, having scripted the tale with his brother, Clayton – eventually finds himself at the International Pumper and Cleaner Expo in Nashville, the Super Bowl of waste-management conventions.
