Supporting the arts isn’t easy. It can be quite a costly pursuit. Even if our hearts and souls are tugged by some magnificent piece of art hanging on a gallery wall, often times prices can be so exorbinant that the only thing that art doesn’t tug out of us is our wallet.
Shayne Bohner and Marco Turrubiartes, resident artists at the Firehouse, aren’t taking your excuses.
They’ve formed a collective of Phoenix and Los Angeles-based artists who participate in the Make Art Available Project, aiming to produce quality prints and art that even us living hand-to-mouth, paycheck-to-paycheck can’t resist.

Bohner and Turrubiartes also host “Muse” on Wednesday nights at the Firehouse, an evening where artists, models, and other creatives can get together, collaborate, commiserate, and enjoy each other’s company.
This weekend the Make Art Available Project’s theories will become practice when it hosts the “$25 And Under Art Show” at the Firehouse on Saturday, September 11th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. The show will feature works by Tate Hemlock, Nicole “Medusa” McCord, El Vaquero Muerto, Shayne Of The Dead, Andy Hartmark, I Must Be Dead, Dark Unicorn Photography, and half a dozen other creatives.
