Get ready for the “glamorous, gay Goodwill.”
Don Hammill’s resale shop, 3 Snaps, opens its doors on Friday, May 7. The opening weekend bash will include a fashion show and possible appearances by Valley drag queens.
Hammill says he named the store after the flamboyant finger-snapping gesture
synonymous with gay men (also known as the “z-snap” or “triple snap”).
The store will accept tax-deductible donations year-round to benefit chosen local charities: 1n10, a support and social group for LGBT youth; Aunt Rita’s Foundation, which benefits HIV and AIDS service organizations; and Community Church of Hope, a gay-friendly house of worship on 7th Avenue.

Michael Todd Robinson is the current manager, but has also worked with the Hospice of the Valley store and owns Zinnias at Melrose. He says hopes to recruit 200 volunteers to help staff the store (volunteers can sign up at the 3 Snaps website).
If you plan on attending the opening, youth from 1n10 will present a fashion show and refreshments will be provided. Opening celebration will be held this Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m..
