One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s — what’s yours?

On Saturday, Stacey Champion, the community activist behind Rogue Green and a kickass blog, gathered volunteers and members of Keep Phoenix Beautiful to clean up the very neglected stretch of Fourth Street from Roosevelt to Garfield streets in downtown Phoenix.

After the glass and trash was cleared, the group put up a Candy Chang-inspired chalkboard piece that encourages community members to leave wishes for the Downtown area.

Champion writes that she’ll be documenting messages left on the board, and from time to time, she’ll erase it to create more room for ideas.
