Robert “GQ” Gallo’s wrestling career has taken him to some interesting places. Over the past decade, he’s fought in front of thousands of rowdy Japanese fans at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall, toured Korea with the USO, and even body-slammed bullying bruisers on pay-per-view. Now the 30-year-old member of the Valley’s Impact Zone Wrestling crew is about to do battle in the most unusual setting yet: an amusement park.
Gallo and the rest of the IZW roster will mix grappling and goofy golf when they present Viva Lucha Superstar Professional Wrestling. More than a dozen different ring warriors, including Derrick Neikirk, Johnny Manson, Fearless Jack, and Erica D’Erico, will be on hand to dish out the dropkicks. Besides battling against each other, the IZW competitors will also face off against a number of local luche libre performers, including Sergio Vega, Black Dragon, and El Chucky (who enters the ring wearing a mask similar to the Child’s Play villain).
Tickets are $17 and include unlimited use of Fiddlesticks’ bumper boats, go-karts, kiddy rides, and other attractions from 4 to 10 p.m.
