Maybe your favorite part of each calendar day is morning, when it’s too early to receive bugaboo messages on your CrackBerry. Or possibly it’s the afternoon, when you turn off your phone for a nappy-poo
Personally, our most beloved occurrence happens each weekday evening when Mega 104.3 plays love dusties – we’re talking on-point slow jams, from Heatwave’s “Always and Forever” to sappy-but-oh-so-sweet songs by The Stylistics – via Art Laboe’s syndicated late-night love-dusty program.
Laboe, one of the pioneers of modern disc-jockey culture, came up with a killer concept that will make our night on Friday, July 17. The Art Laboe Summer Jam goes off with performances by acts that have been stage-absent for way too freaking long, such as Zapp, Evelyn “Champagne” King, Heatwave, and the incomparable Sugar Hill Gang. Plus, after the concert, you can use that phone for something good: the booty call.
