Running away with the circus seems like a dream come true, until you realize you’ll have to sleep on train cars and shovel elephant crap (at least, when you’re the new kid under the big top).
But the pitfalls of performing didn’t stop Russian aerialist Alexander Streltsov from taking the stage when he was just twelve years old, or nabbing a gold medal at a Parisian circus competition later that year.
Streltsov will lead a cast of daring acrobats, including Olympian Christine Van Loo and Las Vegas veteran Vladimir Tsarkov, in Cirque de la Symphonie. The show combines lush orchestrations with high-flying aerials, trapeze, juggling, and strongman acts. And while there’s no danger of tigers pulling a Siegfried and Roy in this show, the delicate balancing act of Jarek and Darek is enough to keep audiences on their toes.
