January has been a rough one for fans of the arts — with the deaths of David Bowie, Lemmy, Alan Rickman, and Glenn Frey. We’ve seen tributes to Bowie and Frey pop up across the state.
And starting on Friday, January 22, Harkins Valley Art will celebrate the legacies of Bowie and Rickman with a weeklong film festival.
“Alan Rickman was a unique and well-loved actor,” says Harkins owner Dan Harkins. “Throughout his career, Rickman brought many characters to life particularly with his distinctive voice and expressions. He will live on through his work for years to come.”
Which is why the Mill Avenue movie theater will show Die Hard, Galaxy Quest, Love Actually, and Truly Madly Deeply as a tribute to the late actor. The festival will also feature Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, in which Bowie starred.
