Black Carl: White kids playing super-awesome and authentic soul/funk.
Andrew Jackson Jihad: Once before a gig at a family bookstore, lead singer Sean Bonnette nearly took the stage while wearing a Sharpie’d T-shirt that read, “Fuck you, cokehead.”
Janis Joplin Crap N Vomit: Punk rock showtunes. Awesome.
Yourchestra: A doing-shrooms-sounding ensemble that plays 1920s-style jug-band music before suddenly breaking out into psychedelic hippie dances.
And then there’s the headlining act, Estradasphere Trio, an all-over-the-map group named after (yes) Erik Estrada/”Ponch” from CHiPs. The band’s song titles include “The Trials and Tribulations of Parking on Your Front Lawn,” “Rise N’ Shine (Epic Doobie Nightmare #1),” and “Burnt Corpse.”
