This is going to be damn good.
In December 2009 at Trunk Space, Tempe-based artist Allison Karow, aka Sunny Sealeopard, had one of her first exhibitions in the Valley. In it, Karow, a founding member of Bike Saviours Co-op, exhibited drawings, paintings, and mixed-media works on the cheap, including a wreath made out of stuffed animals heads.
All of her works have a personal quality to them. Imagine, for example, being able to read your great-grandparents’ handwritten letters. Karow is able to express that feeling visually.
For more information about the artist reception — scheduled to take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at Hair Pollution, 1524 East McDowell Road — check out Karow’s website and/or her Facebook event page.
